Canning…My sister’s neighbor is interested in learning to can.  We had a conversation about canning that got me motivated to get my garden planted.  This year I hope to can chili, pepper butter, salsa, pizza sauce, dill pickles, sweet pickles, raspberry jalapeno jelly, and bruschetta.  Check out the Ball website @ www.freshpreserving.com.  It’s a great site to get you started.

Freezing…  It’s even easier than canning. We’ll be freezing pesto for sure.  Other freezer favorites of ours include strawberry jam and corn.

Gardening… Yesterday we planted roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, yellow pear tomatoes, basil, jalapenos, cilantro, hot banana peppers, sweet banana peppers, green peppers and eggplant.
